Two masses were celebrated at the College on Friday 10 May, with approximately 2,000 people demonstrating the special bond between mother and son. “Today is one of the most special days of the year for the boys and young men of St Patrick’s College – time for mothers and sons to be together, to worship together and to truly celebrate together.” (Mark Herro – College Captain)
Our Eucharist emphasised joy, light and new life as part of the Easter season and the recognition of women in the Church throughout history. We shared in the giving of flowers, the blessing of mums and grandmothers and the acknowledgement of all who have gone before us. Women of St Patrick’s College, may each of you be blessed by the God of Sarah, Miriam, Rebekkah, Rachel, Leah, Mary Magdalene, Mary our Mother and all the other great women of our faith. God bless and happy Mothers’ Day!
