Mathematics

The Mathematics faculty endeavours to foster academic achievement and excellence by developing  programs of study that enable every student to achieve their personal best. Associated with this is the enhancement of skills necessary to cope with the mathematical demands of everyday life and the pre-eminence of Numeracy is emphasised both in programs and the regular Mathematics lesson.

Our programs acknowledge the diverse mathematical backgrounds and abilities of each student and endeavours to teach Mathematics in a way that stretches their capabilities and enables them to maximise their potential.

Students are provided with opportunities to apply their mathematics in situations that interest them and are regularly presented with familiar and unfamiliar situations that require them to select and interpret information, choose the appropriate mathematical method, arrive at a solution and then make a decision upon reflection.
