Vocational Education at St Patrick’s College, Strathfield, helps students prepare for further education, training, employment, and lifelong learning and is widely recognised by key stakeholders in education.
VET qualifications provide a fast, cost-effective pathway to employment, giving students first-hand experience and confidence to navigate a rapidly changing environment.
For NSW school students, the study of VET is ‘dual accredited’. Students receive recognition towards their school qualification (Record of School Achievement or HSC) and a nationally recognised VET qualification (Certificate or Statement of Attainment).
Some VET courses include an HSC examination which provides the opportunity for students to have this HSC examination mark contribute towards the calculation of their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
St Patrick’s College offers a range of quality VET courses and vocational learning that are:
- Industry-developed training packages or accredited courses
- Regulated by the VET sector
- Delivered by teachers accredited by a Registered Training Organisation (AISNSW)
- Reflective of specific industry competency standards
You can check what VET courses entail by talking to your teachers or the Head of Vocational Education and Careers.
