St Patrick's College Strathfield

Justice, Service and Advocacy

At St Patrick’s College, our community bears the responsibility of advocating for justice, compassion, and subsidiarity in support of those in need. Our curriculum and co-curricular activities offer numerous opportunities to educate for justice and peace. We extend an open invitation to all, including students, staff, parents, and Old Boys, to actively engage in the pursuit of justice.

The College encourages every member of our community to be a voice for the voiceless and strives to raise awareness about justice issues among students and families. Central to our College life is the principle of service.

The St Patrick’s College community actively participates in various service programs that encompass Awareness, Action, and Advocacy. These programs are an integral part of our Curriculum and Co-curriculum.

In alignment with the Charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, we dedicate ourselves to serving those on the margins of society.

Our efforts range from fundraising initiatives to justice campaigns, working relentlessly to bring about positive change. These include:

  • Lenten fundraising initiatives
  • Vinnies Winter Appeal
  • Winter Sleepout
  • Reconciliation Week

Shining Our Light (SOL) Service Program

The Shining Our Light (SOL) Service Program fosters a sense of volunteering and service as an inherent part of students daily lives, both within and beyond the school environment.  Participation in this program is mandatory for all students and continues through the years until the Social Justice Service program in Year 11.
